How Much Does a Vehicle Wrap Cost?

When it comes to the cost of a vehicle wrap, there is no one price fits all. A lot of variables go into determining the cost of a vehicle wrap. Below are the biggest variables that we take into consideration when pricing a vehicle wrap:

The first variable for calculating the cost of a vehicle wrap is square footage. How much of the vehicle is going to be wrapped. The materials, the base vinyl and laminate, are all priced according to square footage. We simply measure the area (height x width) to be wrapped, to determine the amount of materials and the time it will take to wrap the vehicle.

The make and model of the vehicle is the second factor used to determine the cost of a vehicle. A car with a lot of compound curves or rounded areas — think Volkswagen Beetle or Chrysler PT Cruiser — is more difficult to wrap than a box truck with its flat sides. Design take longer as artwork has to be designed to flow around the curves of the rounded surfaces. Installation is more difficult since the vinyl has to be stretched and worked around those curves. It is similar to trying to wrap a piece of paper around a tennis ball without getting any wrinkles.

The third aspect for the price of a vehicle wrap is the material used for the wrap. The type of vehicle and surface determines what materials are used for the wrap. High-performance vinyl is necessary for vehicles with compound curves or boats, yet more cost effective material can be used on flat surfaces while still maintain the durability of the vehicle wrap.

Overall, an average full wrap on a vehicle can range from $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the three factors previously stated, plus the design process. If we were to break down the costs into three subsets, they would be design, material, and install. The design can vary from $50 to $1,500 depending on how much work our design team has to put into creating the perfect wrap. The initial $450 gets you 8 to 10 hours of design time; after that it is a per hour basis. The cost of material can be anywhere from $8 a square foot to $12 contingent on how much of the vehicle will be covered by the wrap. The type of use also makes a difference when it comes to the cost of material. The install is $3 to $4 per square foot depending on the make and model of the vehicle.

General Cost Summary (for most cars, vans, and trucks):

  • Wrap Design (Includes up to two revisions)
  • Partial Wrap – $250
  • Full Wrap – $350

Material & Installation

  • Partial Wrap – Typically $1,200 to $2,000
  • Full Wrap – Approximately $2,200 to $2,700

Color change

  • Full Wrap – Ranges from $3,600 to $4,500 depending upon the vehicle size, original color, the new color, and body complexity.
